When I first became a Christian, I didn’t realize how much the enemy would try to take me down. His attacks were swift and furious. There were some days, it was almost a palpable force. Thankfully, I had some strong mentors in my life at the time who directed me to Truth.
I realized quickly I was in a battle. Not only a battle for my soul, but a battle for who I would become. Changing who I was was necessary in order to follow God in a way that would honor Him.
God is at my center. He is my focus. My strong tower. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10 ESV
I had to shed my old ways. To honor Christ, I now had to let go of anything that didn’t honor Him. The renewing of my mind. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 ESV
Brave is getting uncomfortable. Uncomfortable with my current life. God has a way of shaking me up to lean more on Him.
I am constantly changing, learning, and growing. Leaning more on God. My goal is to read 50-75 books a year. Most of them are spiritual growth and personal development. How do I combat the enemy? I keep God’s Word at the forefront of my mind and concentrate on improving myself.

My Everyday Brave: Make no mistake. We are in a battle. The enemy wages war for our soul. We need to be prepared. Thankfully, God equips us and tells us that no weapon formed against us will prosper. My biggest brave is to get uncomfortable enough to change and grow and allow God to transform me.
